Accomplished physician executive and dual board-certified surgeon to support growth, quality,
and clinical excellence.
INDEPENDENCE, MO. — (December 15, 2025) — Centerpoint Medical Center — part of HCA Midwest Health, Kansas City’s largest healthcare provider — has named Sabrina Kidd, MD, as chief medical officer (CMO).
A certified physician executive and dual board-certified colorectal and general surgeon, Dr. Kidd brings nearly 15 years of healthcare leadership and clinical expertise to Centerpoint Medical Center. She joins HCA Midwest after resuming active clinical practice in Kansas City following more than a decade of leadership and surgical practice in Northern California.
During her tenure in Sonoma and Santa Rosa, Dr. Kidd served as CMO, chief operating officer, and chief medical executive across community hospitals, academic affiliates, and integrated health systems. Her leadership helped advance clinical quality, strengthened operational performance, and expanded access through service line development, telehealth innovation, clinical informatics, and collaborative partnerships with physicians and community stakeholders. Dr. Kidd’s background as a surgeon further broadens her insight into team-based care and hospital operations.
“Dr. Kidd is a highly respected physician leader whose blend of clinical insight and operational experience will be an enormous asset to Centerpoint Medical Center,” said Centerpoint Medical Center CEO Patrick Rafferty. “Her passion for quality, commitment to our caregivers, and collaborative approach will help drive our continued focus on delivering exceptional care for the community.”
“I’m honored to join Centerpoint Medical Center and partner with our dedicated physicians, nurses, and colleagues to advance the high-quality, compassionate care our patients deserve,” said Dr. Kidd. “Growing up in Kansas City, this community shaped me — and returning home to continue to strengthen the hospital that serves this area is especially meaningful. I look forward to supporting our teams as we enhance clinical excellence and patient experience.”
Dr. Kidd was born and raised in Kansas City until age 9, when her family moved to Michigan while her mother completed her general surgery residency. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Dr. Kidd earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology/zoology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her general surgery residency at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine’s Grand Rapids Campus and her colorectal surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Kidd is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
