Community Project: Keep Knitting

Support our new community project, organized by KCAI student Cherline Philogene. The project titled, Keep Knitting, is a community-driven knitting collaboration that brings people together to engage in a hands-on fiber arts experience.

This project invites people of all skill levels to explore arm knitting—a technique that replaces traditional needles in favor of using one’s arms—to collectively create a large-scale knitted textile installation. The project will take place during workshops on Friday, April 11th, 18th, and 25th.

The workshops will take place in Englewood’s Glass Blowing Studio, patio, or the flex space, depending on availability.

Following the workshops, the completed textile piece will be installed between April 28th and May 5th at the Englewood Arts Center. The goal of the project is to transform the space into a visual representation of collective effort and shared experience. This project not only encourages artistic expression but also reinforces the value of gathering, making, and storytelling through craft.
